“By 2045, the US will be a majority minority. That means, there will be more people of diverse backgrounds than white people. When you look at the pushbacks in the United States against DEI, I think that’s why,” says Hassan.

“Businesses have to prepare for this by becoming more diverse in their teams and their outlooks.”

Learn from Hassan as he moderates a discussion about unlocking the power of multigenerational teams for enhanced productivity with Rachele Focardi, Founder, Multigenerational Workforce Stategist XYZ@Work and Dr Carole Easton, CEO at the Centre for Ageing Better.

“Diversity, equity and inclusion is something that your employees will value because it shows that the organisation genuinely cares about them. I can see the difference that our initiatives at Univest are making to folks in my organisation, especially for those who have been siloed since the pandemic.

“By bringing people together for DEI initiatives, they meet those outside of their teams they wouldn’t usually come across, and that is good for the organisation.

“Univest has recently expanded into other geographical areas including Baltimore in Maryland, which means that as well as our customer base changing, the people we are employing have become more diverse. This is mutually beneficial – you have to understand the customer base you are trying to attract by employing people who represent those consumers.”
