Apply DEI Workshop schedule – April 2023

Here the full Apply DEI Workshop session schedule for your reference:

1) Friday 21st April 2023 | 10:30am EDT / 3:30pm BST:
Apply DEI Workshop PRE-PARTY Welcome and Introduction

In this session, we will walk you through the full event and get you set up with all the resources you need for each of the days of the workshop.

2) Saturday 22nd April 2023 | 10:30am EDT / 3:30pm BST:
Training 1: Get clear on the full landscape of DEI

One of the biggest mistakes people make is to move straight into delivering a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program without having understood the full remit of the diversity, equity and inclusion landscape today, and without actually knowing what they are doing. So on Day 1, we’ll make a plan!

We’re going to get crystal clear on the full landscape of DEI. We’ll identify the latest trends, what you already know how to deliver and what you don’t, how to get organised — and what values you should be keeping in mind as you structure your DEI program to create real, lasting results.

3) Sunday 23rd April 2023 | 10:30am EDT / 3:30pm BST:
Training 2: Define your processes and set measurable goals

Many people struggle to acknowledge deep-rooted issues before they launch a plan. This leads to them setting goals which are too unrealistic, and the project ends up burning out before change has been succesfully delivered.

In Training 2, we’ll help you get your processes straight. We’ll talk through proven processes that you can use to remove the roadblocks in an organisation, tackle unconscious bias, racism, exclusive hiring, lack of diversity, and more, so you can acknowledge where the weaknesses are and then make proper goals which you can actually reach. That way, your DEI plan will have a much better chance of standing the test of time.

4) Monday 24th April 2023 | 10:30am EDT / 3:30pm BST:
Training 3: Promote your plan and get results

Whether you are a consultant or working in-house, it’s hard to get the attention and respect of the big bosses and get hold of the budgets you need to make change happen. You need to promote your DEI plan far and wide to get results, and you need to raise your voice.

In Training 3, we are going to work on your powers of persuasion. We’ll teach you how to command attention, how to build a circle of influence around you and how to promote your plan to get the whole organisation on board. We’ll teach you proven strategies to help you weave your magic throughout the whole organisation. You are going to own that plan, change that work culture, and get results!

5) Tuesday 25th April 2023 | 10:30am EDT / 3:30pm BST:
Your DEI Roadmap for the next 90 days

Many people’s DEI plans fail because they don’t have a roadmap or a proper plan of action, and they don’t know how to measure a DEI campaign’s success. In our final training, we’re going to work on measurement. We’ll teach you how to measure DEI results over time. We’re also going to take everything that we have learnt and help you create a step-by-step DEI roadmap for the future, based on YOUR unique goals, which you can use to hold yourself accountable and keep your campaigns on track.

Whether you’re starting completely from scratch or are looking to refine your existing DEI strategy, you’ll leave this training with a detailed plan of action, so you can finally feel as if you are moving forwards.
