Saadet Yalcin is a passionate diversity, equality, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) activist; influencer, and advocate. She has over a decade of recruitment experience from a global recruitment company before starting her own consultancy work.
Saadet’s earlier inclusion work pre-recruitment and whilst studying for her Masters; started out at Charing Cross hospital in the admission department for the Gender Identity and Reassignment Clinic. Here Saadet saw the power of inclusion and the positive impact of being your true authentic selves in life; at work and through every day without fear of discrimination, oppression, or repercussion.
Saadet found her calling for inclusion advocacy and through her personal experience as a neurodivergent (dyslexic) individual whilst overcoming her own social-economic challenges. Saadet made a career of building intersectional cultures of belonging where everyone can bring their full and authentic selves to work irrespective of race; age; sexuality; marital status; social-economic status; disability and so forth protecting individual identities.
As a recruitment consultant for solutions; problem-solving and creating a fairer; equal and open recruitment process; Saadet has built localised employee resource groups in the workplace: including LGBTQ+ groups; gender equality networks and Enablement networks. As an influencer with a reputation for delivering effective high touch services of interventions and timely business solutions that leverage diversity whilst still demonstrating ROI, Saadet also contributes to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), thanks to her continuous exposure to the C-suite environment.
She is confident in working within constantly evolving and complex political, economic and organisational (both public and private) contexts of ongoing transformation. Her matrix-driven approach, along with her empathy as well as assertiveness and persistence, enables her to gauge stakeholders’ buy-in and deliver impactful and commercially driven D&I strategies that effectively support the company’s priorities, current employees, future applicants and clients. As a change-maker, Saadet cultivates the culture of Inclusion through facilitating difficult conversations; uncovering unconscious bias, and providing practical solutions for how to become consciously inclusive. This includes events, policy changes and training programs.
