Supporting LGBTQ+ colleagues at work

As our society becomes more inclusive and diverse, it is important that we understand and support our LGBTQ+ colleagues in the workplace as fully as we can. In this session, we review the challenges and experiences that LGBTQ+ individuals may face in the workplace, and provide strategies and best practices for creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for all employees.

We discuss how to address and prevent discrimination, create a welcoming and inclusive culture, and provide support for those who identify as LGBTQ+. Our special guest speakers will share their personal experiences and insights on this important topic.

We hope that this webinar will give you a better understanding of the importance of LGBTQ+ inclusion in the workplace and the steps you can take to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all employees.

Carrie Neumann is Snr. Director of Field Diversity & Inclusion, Northwestern Mutual

“I believe we can have a more inclusive world where all have opportunity to thrive and realize their full potential while being their authentic selves.

“My mission toward that world is to cultivate hope where there is not, forge a way forward where there is chaos, and develop change strategies that work to build toward true inclusion and belongingness for individuals and organizations. I do this 1 conversation, 1 person, 1 experience at a time AND she does this through designing and executing enterprise-wise systems strategies.

“Starting my career in Information Technology and ending up in Diversity & Inclusion is a road that may seem odd but provides the perfect combination to get real business results in a space that can seem “fluffy” to some. In fact, this is why I was tapped to enter this space in the first place. I’ve delivered credibility and growth. I’ve used my expertise in organizational change management, systems thinking, initiative management, coaching, applied positive psychology and diversity and inclusion to architect change strategies to get business results.

“I value working with those desiring to make the world a more equitable place. I value being on creative and innovative teams open to leveraging human behavior and positive psychology to increase impact. And I value spaces where my super strengths of endless curiosity, cultural humility, authenticity, persistence, and relentless pursuit of learning new things are appreciated.”
